Yogatta Be Kidding is a 90-second 2D animated short film about women’s empowerment. A yogini’s practice is unexpectedly interrupted when a chauvinist enters her space seeking more than yoga instruction, and she schemes to rid her temple of his lust. This Toon Boom TM Harmony production was screened at Spark Animation Festival in Vancouver, BC Canada.
2D AniMation
Tasked with creating an animated short film from scratch, we began by drafting storyboards and editing animatics while designing characters and backgrounds. We then rigged the characters using Toon Boom Harmony and laid it all out, blocked key poses, and proceeded with full animation. All sound was sourced and voice acting was directed in-house.
‘Yogatta Be Kidding’ was entered by the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts and selected for screening at Spark Animation Festival in Vancouver, BC Canada in 2017 alongside animated films Dear Basketball (Glen Keene and Kobe Bryant) and The Breadwinner (Cartoon Saloon).
